About me
Welcome! My name is Juncheng Jiang (Pronounced approximately June-chung Jee-ahng) and I’m a first-year MA (2026-2028) student in Department of Economics at Duke University. Before that, I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Mainland China.
My research interests include public economics on optimal taxation, income distribution and macroeconomics on entrepreneurship and human capital, fiscal policy and economic growth. Some topics can also intersect among other fields like political economics, labor economics and industrial organization. I am willing to explore these fields in both theoretical and empirical ways, combining theoretical models, historical data, and new large-scale surveys.
Here is the detailed Research Interests Statement.
I am willing to engage in economic research as a job for a lifetime in the future. This requires me to study further at a prestigious university as a doctoral student to qualify myself for it. ( I am very willing to apply for Pre-doctoral fellow before enrolling in a top Ph.D. program. If there are suitable projects or positions, please feel free to contact me. ) Any criticism and suggestions are welcome to email me!
